This past June marked the very first time finally getting out to try this place and indeed turned out to be another go-to Chicago style grill. Like many other Chicago grills, Roost boasts that menu of familiar eats such as gyros, burgers, Chicago style dogs, Italian beef and they even have paninis which my wife had one which she liked. Obvious competition against nearby Sammie's which I've been to quite a few times over the years but I felt it was time to change up. Roost 83 is definitely another fine Chicago style hit. We live out in Beach Park but if ever in the area again and get that craving for savory Chicago style grub, we'll definitely be back in and hope for continued success & prosperity for the owner(s).

I've had a number of meals here now, so this review is based on the aggregate of the visits. Everything has been awesome, each time. The chicken mac and cheese wrap is delicious and massive, portions across the board are generous. Burgers, chicken, gyros, have always been good and consistent. The biggest thing for me is these may be the best wings in town. Worth the wait. Enjoy!

I've been going here for years. I've never had to wait for an online order. Maybe they were short staffed today. I placed my order online at 11:15 to picked up at 11:45. Got there at 11:45 and they hadn't even started the order. So I got to stand there for 20min waiting. The guy who I'm thinking is a manager or owner handed me the bag and then proceeded to snap at me because I grabbed the bag too quickly. Never apologized for having to wait 20min, just scolded me for how I grabbed the bag. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Everything was really good. Next time I'll try the burger. Hot dogs Great, gyros Great, Maxwell Street Polish Great, salad, delicious! The young man at the counter was very courteous, the food was done quickly, atmosphere laid back, bathrooms were spotless, kitchen spotless, all in all, impressive. Love the decorum. We'll be back, absolutely! Plenty of parking, wheelchair accessible!

Stopped on the way home for a quick dinner. Everything was delicious. Service was ok but the place could pay a little more attention to cleaning. The floor where we were at was sticky and so was the katchup bottle they gave me.

First of all, our first visit was great so we went back a week or so later. The cashier didn't complete our order correctly, we requested that the bratwurst be placed in separate bags from the polish so not to mix up, they did. And I requested chicken tenders, BBQ sauce and fries. We didn't get the fries, so check your order before you leave

Entrance across from Taco Bell! Seems most prices increased since a lot of the photos of the menu, seems most things are more expensive Italian Beef could be more tender, but this is certainly a fair Italian beef. I wouldn't come back for it again, but I might try other items like the burgers if I came back. Fries are pretty good! The right amount of salt, and the right airy and soft inside with a crisp outside. The cheese at first was okay, but as I had more of it I recognized it to be a common food service Cheese Sauce. I could take or leave it but it's mostly for going on the fries so it did its job. Spotless floors and tables, chairs neatly tucked in and Arcade machines on! Greeted at the counter right away and taken care of quickly. Prices were fair, but sadly I would have been ecstatic for the food I was getting if it was more aligned to those older prices ($6 for a beef instead of $8). Also if you're a sports fan then this seems like a great place to go for a game and meal with your friends! Tons of seating and at least 6 TVs it looked like.
